Basketball: Baylor vs McCallie
Katy Waddell

The Baylor vs. McCallie basketball games are always exciting events for both schools as the teams are usually closely matched. But this year, Baylor is 2-0 against the Blue Tornado and expects to go 3-0 with the next game coming up in a few weeks.

Saad Mohammad, a senior member of Baylor’s team, attributes their success largely to their coaches. “Good coaching has definitely helped us through the difficult late game situations,” says Mohammad. "Players hit the shots they needed to hit, but ultimately, without the strategic coaching [they] would not have had the same success.”

Mohammad also acknowledges the passion from the student section, stating that “with the student section being loud as always,” it won’t be hard for the Red Raiders to play with the same “fire and intensity” that led them to victory against their cross-town rivals in the previous two meetings. Mohammad is “excited” to play McCallie for a third time this season and looks forward to going undefeated against the boys in blue.
