Grandparents Day Returns!
Ally Creswell

On April 29th, students and their grandparents and special friends participated in Baylor’s first Grandparents’ Day on campus since 2019. Grandparents’ Day is traditionally the one day each year when grandparents of current Baylor students have the opportunity to roam campus and see what a day at Baylor looks like for their grandchild, especially the amount of walking between buildings and the rigor of courses. It is also an opportunity for grandparents to meet the teachers and staff and have an enjoyable Friday with their family.

This year, they were treated with live music in the Quad and fun, thought-provoking activities in each class. Discussions and classes ranged from what high school was like when they were teenagers to hands on learning to solving math problems. For those who are also Baylor alums, Grandparents’ Day offers an opportunity to explore the developments of the campus with the new buildings and academic offerings and reminisce on their academic careers.

The event would not have been such a success without the help of students as well. Students’ enthusiasm and desire to help others is the backbone of these events, whether they drove golf carts up the hill to facilitate transportation or simply stopped to guide someone in the right direction. Everyone loves Grandparents’ Day, and you can feel the happiness of the community in the air as soon as you step onto campus.
