Baylor Virtual Club Fair
Ibi Esho

The annual club fair! The renowned club selection day has now gone virtual like many other of our iconic traditions this year. From relaxation club to debate club, there are a plethora of activities to choose from. So get ready, get excited, and get pumped, for our iconic virtual club fair.

Natalee Hindman, director of student life ‘10, has been working tirelessly to prepare this virtual club fair, brainstorming different modes and methods to make this club fair as fun as possible. There were many ideas, but after serious deliberation, she decided to create a two part system. The first part consists of uploading the videos students send in about their clubs and to myBaylor for the student body to see and learn more about. These videos will remain on the Baylor website for the entire year so students can continue to find more clubs that pique their interests.

The second part is more interactive, and it consists of a Community Time event in which students can sign up to present their clubs and hold a Q&A session via zoom. Students can then log onto the zoom with a link provided by Hindman during Community Time and receive more information about the clubs they are interested in and what they entail. Some of your favorite clubs are already on the roster to present, including sustainability club, Chinese club, music club, and coffee club, both of which are brand new this year!

Hindman plans to hold this virtual Community Time club fair portion on Oct. 15, so mark your calendars! However, if you are still interested in presenting an idea for a club, don’t worry—you have until Oct. 7 to email her and send in a video describing your club and its purpose.

This club fair, although new and different, is sure to be a success and just as fun as previous club fairs. Fatima Sohani ‘22 remarks, “I can’t wait to see the new clubs my fellow classmates have to offer! Club fair is my favorite part of the year, as I get to learn not only about myself and my interests, but my peers’ interests as well, bringing me closer to my Baylor community.”
