The Boarding School Experience
Ever wonder if a boarding school experience could be in your child's future? Not only do boarding schools offer amazing environments for students to thrive and excel, they provide students with great preparation for success in college admissions. The Boarding School Experience offers a convenient and easy way to explore incredible schools by combining the idea of summer camp and exploration of boarding schools into one event.
A Week of Fun and Exploration into the World of Boarding
What do John Green, Emma Watson, and Mark Zuckerburg have in common? They all discovered independence, deep friendships, creativity, and passion at boarding school.
But, like Platform 9 3/4 to get to Hogwarts, getting to boarding school can seem like a bit of a mystery. That's why four great Southern boarding schools - St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School, Webb School, Indian Springs School, and Baylor School - have banded together to create The Boarding School Experience (TBSE), a one-week summer exploration for rising seventh and eighth graders.
Campers will explore each campus and enjoy short courses, outdoor adventure, and the company of compatible peers. Find out what it is like to live and learn in a community that offers small classes, engaged classmates, and talented teachers. Discover innovative courses and outstanding facilities. You and your newfound friends will cap off the week with a trip to an amusement park. Parents will love TBSE because it is an efficient introduction to four great boarding schools with all the travel logistics and supervision taken care of for you!
The Webb School
Indian Springs School
This fun week begins with check-in and lunch at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Monday June 11 (with optional early drop off on June 10). After lunch, we will travel to St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School for afternoon activities and an overnight stay on "the mountain." On Tuesday, June 12, campers move on to The Webb School in middle Tennessee for activities and another overnight stay. On Wednesday, June 13, Indian Springs School in Birmingham, Alabama is our destination for the next overnight on their campus. We return to Chattanooga on Thursday to prepare for a fun day at a local amusement park on Friday. On Saturday, June 16, we will be introduced to Baylor School. TBSE concludes after an all-family brunch and all-schools' presentation on Sunday morning that will help launch the next exciting phase of your education.
The Association of Boarding Schools based in Asheville, N.C. is an official sponsor of the event. Check your calendars, space is limited!
