A Typical Boarding Day at Baylor
At Baylor, each day's schedule is a little bit different. Follow Allen Pack, a boarding student from Peachtree City, Ga., through a typical Monday schedule...
- Before School
- 8:00 a.m. - Extra Help
- 8:45 a.m. - Physics, Mr. Edwards
- 9:52 a.m. - Chapel
- 10:34 a.m. - Free Period
- 11:36 a.m. - Lunch
- 12:16 p.m. - US History, Mr. Cox
- 1:23 p.m. - Computer Science, Mr. Owald
- 2:30 p.m. - English, Ms. Pojasek
- After School
4 p.m. - Golf Practice
The golf team practices at Black Creek and it’s just amazing that we can have access to such an amazing club and golf course. They have a section of the driving range roped off for Baylor golfers, we can practice on the putting green, and then we may play five holes or so before it’s time to leave.
6:30 p.m.- Dinner
The dining hall is even nicer when it’s less crowded at dinner. The food is just as good as lunch, plus they have the soda machine and the soft serve ice cream machine available! They offer great variety.
8 p.m.- Evening Hours
Study hours begin at 8 p.m. I get one weekday leave (I usually take it on Monday) because I’m a prefect and I’m on duty one night a week. From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., I work on my homework, study for tests, write papers, or read. At 10 p.m., a lot of guys in my dorm hang out in the lobby and play Guitar Hero. Around 10:45 p.m. we start calming down and getting ready for 11 p.m. lights out. I live on the hall with all the freshmen this year, so I try to look out for them and help Coach P (dorm parent Gary Partrick) keep an eye on them.
