Found Poem: The More They Love You Back
Sophie Peirano, Dillard Sutherland, and Robert Morton

Dear God,
How long can it last?
Being alive begin to seem like an awful strain.
I don't say nothing.
I pray to die,
just so I don't never have to speak.
My heart broke.
Pray for me.

Dear peoples,
I remember how I felt when she left me.
If she come, I be happy.
If she don't, I be content.
I'm a woman. I love you.
Whatever happen,
whatever you do,
I love you.

Dear Everything,
I figure this is the lesson I'm supposed to learn.
My heart is in my mouth.
The more I wonder, the more I love.
And people start to love you back.
I'm a woman. I love you.
Whatever happen,
whatever you do,
I love you.

Dear God,
Here us is, two old fools left over from love,
keeping each other company under the stars.
But I don't think us feel old at all. And us so happy.
Matter of fact, I think this the youngest us ever felt.
AMEN
