you're never more alive than when you're almost dead—

you're never more alive than when you're almost dead—

the aliveness makes you tremble

it's spooky—your truest self in the midst of

grotesque

beauty.

you close your eyes

and think, Christ, what's the point of

Godliness?

the answer matters—

but You feel cheated—

because the only certainty is overwhelming ambiguity.

and i remember crying

in the garden of evil;

and i remember

hearing the quiet that nobody should ever hear;

and i remember

because it's so incredibly sad and true:

you're never more alive than when you're almost dead—
