Found Poem: Everybody Learns Something in Life
Rosa Anderson Barrera, Gracie Tomisek, Haley Rice, and Lauren Yim

Dear Everything. Dear God.

My heart broke.

What would she love?
Nothing's special here for nobody to love.
Nothing young and fresh.
If words could kill,
I'd be in an ambulance.

Being alive begin to seem like an awful strain.
Stillness,
coolness.
Nothingness.
Coming fast.
I try to speak, nothing come.
Try to git up, almost fall.

We didn't make this world.
They want everybody to be just alike.

I try to teach my heart not to want nothing it can't have.

Its a big war.
Kind feeling is all I have to offer myself.
I have love
I have been love.
I have the trees with me. The whole earth. The stars.
I glow with delight.
All I can do now is laugh.

And us so happy.
Amen.
