Senior Timeline May Prove Helpful

Parents of seniors will find this Senior Timeline helpful as you plan out the always-hectic last few months of school for your Baylor senior.

Thursday-Monday, Feb. 14-18: Winter Break begins at 12:35 pm on Thursday and classes resume Tuesday, Feb. 19.

March: The deadline for completing the online form for graduation cap/gown measurements is early March. Notices will be sent to students via class email, myBaylor and daily announcements.

Monday, March 18: Senior Trip information will be emailed to parents & students. (Note: the form linked here is to be downloaded, completed, and returned by May 1 to Tim Williams at Baylor.) http://walkabout.baylorschool.org/Baylor_Walkabout/Senior_Trip.html

Tuesday, March 19: Senior's Spring Break will begin after the last class of the day. Classes will resume on Monday, April 1.

March 20: Deadline for ordering a Senior Yearbook using the coupon code "seniors2019". After this date, the cost of a Yearbook goes from $60 to $70. To order, go to yearbookforever.com and follow the prompts. Questions should be referred to Natalee Oldham at (423) 267-8506, ext. 448.

Saturday, April 13: Junior/Senior Prom at The Camp House from 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

Friday, April 26: Grandparent's Day

Monday, April 29: Upper School Recognition Day in Alumni Chapel – during Chapel period (10:50-11:20).

Tuesday, April 30: "Senior Casual Dress" begins. Senior Dress is a more casual dress (no uniforms required). Guidelines will be sent to Seniors.

May: Graduation caps and gowns will be delivered to the Hunter Hall receptionist in early May. There is no extra expense involved and students will be notified about pick-up through class email, myBaylor and daily announcements.

Monday-Friday, May 6-17: AP Exams

Friday, May 17: Last academic day for seniors.

Monday, May 20: Senior student Alumni Luncheon at Stratton Hall – 11:30 am (coat & tie for guys) followed by Awards Day ceremony for Upper School students in Alumni Chapel – 2:30 pm

Tuesday & Wednesday, May 21 & 22: Two days for seniors to pack and prepare for the Senior Trip.

Thursday – Thursday, May 23 – May 30: Senior Trip. Seniors will meet at 9:30 am in Roddy Theater prior to departure. (Load bags on the truck before meeting in the theater.)

Thursday, May 30: Seniors return from the Senior Trip (at approximately 1:00 pm). Graduation rehearsal will be in the Field House immediately upon arrival from the Senior Trip.

Friday, May 31 (Graduation Day)

  • 8:00 am – 9:30 am – The Field House will be unlocked for parents of seniors to place reserved seat markers in the senior seating section. (Each senior will receive six seat markers which will be mailed to parents in early May). Note: there will be plenty of general seating for additional guests.
  • 10:00 am – Seniors arrive at the Field House ready for line-up. (Be prepared for heavy traffic at the front entrance. Note: the back gate will also be open and is recommended to use.)
  • 11:00 am – Graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony should last approximately two hours. A podcast of graduation will be posted on the school website the following week. Lifetouch Photography will take photos of each senior receiving his/her diploma. Images are posted online within 72 hours at events.lifetouch.com (no password needed).
  • 7:00 pm – 11 p.m. – Senior Graduation Celebration Party at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club, sponsored by parents of seniors.
