In this issue of Baylor magazine, we look back on the careers of our retirees and simultaneously look ahead in welcoming Chris Angel ’89 as the school’s tenth headmaster effective July 2021 and to the leadership of Mark Price, who took over as athletic director July 1, 2020.

Boys’ basketball coach Mark Price was named Baylor’s athletic director on May 19, replacing Thad Lepcio, who will take the helm of the athletic program at Peddie School in New Jersey.
The circumstances under which this school year ended denied these retiring faculty members the standing ovation they deserve. We hope these tributes will cause you to stand, at least in your heart, to honor their combined 189 years of service to Baylor. Floyd Celapino is retiring after 42 years of teaching, entertaining, and inspiring young adults.
One of Baylor's first sixth grade teachers, Amy Cohen, has made her mark on many fronts in her 19 years at the school.
Dr. David Conwell has done a lot of adapting in his 25 years of teaching at Baylor, most recently adjusting to remote classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Jim Kennedy, director of admission and enrollment, retires in August, he will be wrapping up not one, but two Baylor careers that bookend an impressive professional career in advertising, public relations, strategic planning, and civic leadership.
Baylor catering manager Gary Klein, who has retired after 25 years, says if he had his career to do over again, he might have been a teacher, so combining his culinary skills at an independent school like Baylor proved to be a good fit.
Bob Olson came to Baylor in the fall of 1990 and retired in the spring of 2020, wrapping up a 46-year teaching career, 30 of which he spent at Baylor.
Baylor bid goodbye to its first ever instrumental music instructor when Tom Schow retired at the end of the 2020 school year.
