As the author Wendell Berry once stated, "The old and honorable idea of 'vocation' is simply that we each are called, by God, or by our gifts, or by our preference, to a kind of good work for which we are particularly fitted."
This year's retirees fulfilled their calling in many ways, from national reform in mathematics and trailblazing a middle school ethics curriculum, to providing support for heads of schools and scores of students. Retirees (pictured, left to right) Park Lockrow, Susan Collins, Donna Robinson, and Dr. Dan Kennedy taught us that there is more than one way to leave a legacy.
