The Baylor Players in rehearsal for the spring musical
The Baylor Players will present their first live musical production in three years, featuring the humble and heartfelt charm of Charlie Brown and the whole Peanuts gang.
“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, a Broadway Musical" will take place in Roddy Theater April 27- May 1. (Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday). Based on the beloved Charles M. Schulz comic strip, this delightful musical celebrates life’s ups and downs through song and dance and will engage audiences of all ages.

The cast is composed of Jack Smith (Charlie Brown), Amanda Chen (Linus), Nathaniel Smart (Linus), Abagail Bailey (Lucy), Hannah Winchester (Lucy), Sharnima Jones (Sally), Sidney Kiner (Sally), Julian Arellano (Schroeder), Patrick Russell (Snoopy), and Kara Anne Smith (also as Snoopy).
Ensemble filling out the roles of other recognizable Peanuts characters are Mary Margaret Bender, Finley Burnette, Margaret Dowling, Ollie Ellis, Isabella Moore, Kennedy Ray, and Finn Ryan. The production stage manager is Olivia Hankins, and the assistant stage managers are Michelle Jiang and Lea Masson.
"This show is one of the most fun we have worked on in recent years, especially musically speaking,” said Beth Gumnick, the show’s director. “The songs are well crafted, catchy, and performed with bundles of energy and enthusiasm by our talented cast and orchestra," led by musical director Mae Weiss, with assistance from Ben Sposet. Margaret Harman '14 is the show's choreographer.
The set and costumes, designed by Garrett Walsh and Laura Smith, respectively, will transport the audiences into the world of the comic strip, with bright colors, illustrations right out of Charles M. Schulz's world and wide-open spaces to for the peanuts to run and play. Our tech crew, including a large group of middle school members led by drama instructor Allison Lamb, have created a cheery and fun place for audiences to find their escape from the humdrum outside world!
Members of the orchestra are Alisha Chandra, Katherine Chen, Valerie Davis, Owen Eastman, Georgia Johnson, Jenny Liu, Reyna Park, Justin Todd, Vivian Vetzel, Maya Wiisanen, Bruin Webster, Chris Yang, Angela Yoon, and Kevin Yu.
Upper School crew members are Sophia Baleeiro, Benjamin Daniel, Bryce Davis, Alice Fang, Kye Hamilton, Natalie Hankins, Colby Hawk, Selina Huang, Shane Jones, Gavin Jordan, Harper Kelly, Jenny Liu, Aidan McRorie, Jack Minehan, Kaan Volkan, Kramer Weidlich, Allen Yan, and Meya Yangzhen.
Middle School crew members are Bhuvan Bhadra, Mady Campbell, Athens Carboni, Kennedy Elkins, Jessica Fischer, Gabby Goldstein, James Grantham, Hadley Groer, Harriet Howard, Kimber McKenzie, Braylee Newell, Katherine Pipes, Anton Pruenster, Ava Raber, Madeline Claire Stefaniuk, Knox Tipton, and Kate Womack.
