Melissa Love Snyder '90 Named Director of Alumni Engagement

Baylor has named Melissa Love Snyder '90 as director of alumni engagement, replacing Scotty Smith '89 who has assumed the role of director of residential life.

Snyder comes to Baylor after serving in leadership roles in human resources for Northwestern Mutual in Chattanooga, InterContinental Hotels Group in Atlanta, and the Crowne Plaza Resort in Hilton Head Island. She holds a bachelor's degree in recreation management from Georgia Southern University with a minor in business.

Attending Baylor during its early days of co-education, Snyder was one of a handful of female athletes that laid the foundation for the Baylor girls' athletic programs. She played on the first ever Baylor softball and girls' basketball teams, both coached by the late Doug Moser, whom Snyder names as one of the main reasons she chose Baylor. "We were freshmen and sophomores playing against full varsity squads and were forced to grow up quickly," Snyder remembers. "By my junior and senior years, we were competitive as a result."

Snyder is excited about continuing to build relationships between Baylor and alumni, parents, and friends, as well as forging new relationships with prospective families. Snyder's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning programs and events for Alumni Weekend, coordinating several regional alumni events throughout the year, and working with the Baylor Alumni Board to foster and nurture alumni connections.

"Baylor provided such an amazing education and platform which allowed for success in my college years and my professional career, so it is my privilege to give back," says Snyder.  "I have always stayed connected with classmates, participated in alumni events, and served on numerous committees, and I look forward to serving Baylor officially."

Snyder, a Signal Mountain resident, and her husband Paul have two children, Daniel '21 and Kaylee '24. She can be contacted at Baylor by calling (423) 757-2822 or by emailing
