Convocation Kicks Off 2021-22 School Year

Convocation took place in Alumni Chapel Wednesday, Aug. 18, kicking off the official start of Baylor's 129th year.

Following the traditional procession of class flags by selected students representing their class, veteran history teacher and coach Bill Cox carried the convocation flag, and Head of School Chris Angel '89 entered with the Baylor School flag and also delivered the keynote address (see video below).

The invocation was delivered by the school's new chaplain, Alex Gallimore, and the pledge of allegiance was led by Heath Techasiriwan '26.  A special welcome was delivered by members of the school's international community with a greeting in their native language.

Honor Council Chair Brett Cooper '22 delivered remarks explaining the significance of Baylor's Honor Code, and Emily Barker '22 gave the benediction.

The ceremony closed with the Baylor Concert Choir leading in the singing of the Alma Mater under the direction of Vic Oakes
