All State Orchestra Auditions Take Place in Spite of Pandemic

Students in Baylor's orchestra were not able to audition in person for the traditional All-East orchestra competition that takes place each year, but that didn't deter them from earning a coveted spot.  Even though the clinic was canceled, Orchestra Director Christine Lau '14 said students practiced advanced excerpts and scales, recorded themselves, and sent in their recordings to compete against other students from eastern Tennessee. "In a normal year, those who placed at the top of their instrument section would receive All-East status and have the opportunity to attend a clinic, but due to the pandemic, the clinic has been canceled," said Lau.
