Howard is TSSAA Mr. Football Finalist

Baylor junior Elijah Howard has been named one of three finalists for the TSSAA Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award.

The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards are presented to the top football players in nine classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association each year. Three finalists in each classification were announced on Nov. 19 and winners will be named on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Howard rushed for 1,422 yards this season, averaging nearly nine yards per carry, and scored 20 touchdowns for Baylor. The Raiders finished the regular season 9-1 before losing to MBA in a state quarterfinal game Nov. 15.

A committee of statewide sports writers select winners based on performance in the 2019 regular season. Academics and character are also taken into consideration.
