Baylor Athletics is Sixth in National Ranking, First in State

Baylor has the sixth best overall high school athletic program in the nation, and the best in Tennessee, based on the final 2015-16 standings in the MaxPreps Cup race.

MaxPreps Cup rankings are compiled by giving schools points for finishing first or second at the state level. For states that don't have state competition, point totals are adjusted to award first and second-place teams at the section level. Points are also awarded for size of playoff division, size of state, and type of sport.

Here are the top ten programs in the country, according to MaxPreps.com. (Baylor's combined state championship in swimming is not listed.) For a complete listing, visit MaxPreps.com.
