Financial Aid Process

Applying for Financial Aid at Baylor

A variety of options are available to families that cannot afford Baylor without financial assistance.  Financial Aid applications for the 2023-24 school year may be submitted between Sept. 1 2022 and January 31, 2023.

Applications for need-based aid must be renewed annually for both new and returning families each year by the end of January.

STEP ONE: Apply Online

1. Starting September 1, go to the SSS portal here and set up a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) account using your email address and a password, which will allow you to return to work your PFS again before submitting it.

2. Be sure to include Baylor’s school code: 1516. If you are applying for financial aid at more than one school through SSS by NAIS, you only need to complete one application.

3. Submit the application along with the non-refundable fee of $55. The report will be found in your PFS online account usually within 48 hours.

STEP TWO: Uploading Tax Information and Additional Documents

1. Uploading tax documents: About 24 hours after you pay for and submit your PFS, you will have access on the PFS online site to a section titled "Manage Documents" that you will use to upload the additional required documents. You may also want to read information on the SSS family resource page.

2. Baylor REQUIRES that you submit the following documents directly to SSS:

  • IRS Form 1040 for 2020, 2021, 2022
  • All IRS Schedules for 2020, 2021, 2022
  • W2 and/or 1099 forms for 2021, 2022

  • It is our expectation that families who begin at Baylor paying the full tuition will continue to do so until the student graduates or leaves the school.
  • Families enrolling at Baylor should also be aware that it is unlikely they will receive more financial aid than their original award in future years unless they are able to clearly demonstrate in writing a significant, unexpected financial reversal.
  • While we will make every effort to be helpful in the case of circumstances beyond a family’s control ( for example, loss of job or unexpected illness) with a limited financial aid budget , we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet the new financial need of these families as no pre-existing budget is set aside for such an expense.
