The Blairs

When I first came to Baylor, all I heard about was the 'Baylor Family.' So, we decided to embrace it and see for ourselves. We have not been disappointed.

Curtis Blair arrived at Baylor in 2006 as an assistant soccer coach and moved onto campus three years later. "When I first came to Baylor, all I heard about was the Baylor Family," Curtis remembers. "So, we decided to embrace it and see for ourselves. We have not been disappointed."

Curtis is now Baylor's director of soccer, serving as head coach of the varsity girls' and boys' teams. "I work some long and crazy hours," Curtis says, "and being on the campus allows me to see my family more as I sneak in a few minutes during the day."

A dorm parent in Lupton Hall, Curtis says he chose this lifestyle for his family for several reasons. "I appreciate watching boys grow into young men. And we like that they become a part of our extended family. We love them like they are our own kids, and it's a special moment watching the boarding students play with our children."

Curtis, his wife Leslie, and children Hollyn, Hudson, and Cooper, moved to the campus when Hollyn was six months old. "Living on this campus is all she knows," he smiles. "Leslie and I want to raise our children in a safe environment, but we also see the need for them to be around diverse people from all kinds of different places. Living at Baylor gives us both things."
