When Ramona Glascock thinks of Baylor, the first word that comes to her mind is family. It’s the right word to describe both what she finds unique about the school —“Baylor brings out the individual in each student, and it creates a family atmosphere”—and the family she goes home to each night. Ramona and her husband, Gus, are the parents of Anna '11, Sam '14, and Charlie '17.
Ramona, a native of Birmingham, Ala., earned a BS in public administration from Auburn University. She has always enjoyed working with volunteers and donors, and before she had her youngest child, she served as development director of the American Heart Association and as director of annual giving at GPS. While raising her children, she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s real estate appraisal company.
Ramona volunteered for two Baylor auctions, and when she was ready to return to a full time position, she sought a job at Baylor. “I love working with volunteers and donors and knowing I'm doing something that benefits others,” she said. She also relishes the chance to be with young people. “Their constant motion and ever changing world is energizing for me.”
When she is not seeking the next big donation for the auction or Annual Fund, Ramona spends her time gardening, jogging, and entertaining. Ramona, who also enjoys eating good food and sampling fine wine, intends to take her palate to the Mediterranean as soon as possible. “I’m going to Italy before I die!”
