Overview
With seven girls' state championships and two more for the boys, Baylor's track and field program is highly respected across the state. Bill Gautier was named Baylor's head coach in 2019.

Girls
- Baylor has won state track and field championships in 1997 (relays), 1998, 1999, and four in a row in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
- Baylor was state runner-up in 2001 and 2018.
- Baylor won nine region track and field championships from 1991 to 1999 and were region champs in 2001,2002, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018., and 2019
- Baylor was region runner-up in 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2012.
- Baylor was the Southeastern Optimist champion in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014 and was runner-up in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2018.
- Baylor was the Mid-South Classic champion in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2017 and was runner-up in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
Boys
- Baylor has won state track and field championships in 2000 and 2002.
- Baylor was state runner-up in 2001 and 2008.
- Baylor won three region championships in a row from 2001 to 2003.
- Baylor was region runner-up in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019.
- Baylor was the Southeastern Optimist champion in 2001 and 2002 and was runner-up in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2012.
- Baylor was the Mid-South champion in 2001, 2002, and 2003.

Baylor's double track and field state champion, Evie Culbreath '23, finished second in the heptathlon at the 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Baylor athletes won six of the 21 awards bestowed by the Chattanooga Times Free Press at the newspaper's annual Best of Preps Awards banquet Wednesday, June 8.
