Baylor 11, Woodward Academy 10, OT. Trey McDonald's goal in overtime gave the Baylor boys' lacrosse team an 11-10 come-from-behind win on Senior Night in Heywood Stadium Friday.
With the Raiders behind 8-3 in the third quarter, Nick McKenney, Brody Listen, and Eli Bowen scored three goals in a 90-second span to cut the Woodward lead to 8-6. Listen opened the fourth quarter with his fifth goal of the game and McDonald's first goal tied it at 8-8 with just over seven minutes left to play. Jack Forrester's left-handed goal less than a minute later gave Baylor a brief 9-8 lead but Woodward came back with two scores for a 10-9 advantage with 1:48 remaining. A double team by Watson Brown and Dacorian Jones-Montgomery forced a Woodward turnover, Listen 16-yard score with just four seconds left sent the game to overtime. McDonald dodged and scored with two minutes in the OT to give the Raiders the victory.
Listen finished with six goals while McDonald added two with Bowen, Forrester, and McKenney adding one each. Jackson Phillips won 12 of 26 face-offs and Lake Wheeler collected nine saves in the Baylor goal.
