Bradley Central 60, Baylor Girls 47. Baylor junior Raegyn Conley's 27 points led all scorers in the season-opener for varsity girls' basketball Thursday, but the Raiders still fell to defending AAA state champion Bradley Central 60-47. Conley was emerging as one of the area's stars when an injury ended her sophomore season less that halfway through last year's schedule. Her 27-point night included three 3-pointers.
Bella White added 10 points for the Raiders, Kortney Restelli and Britt Barton had a 3-pointer each, and Erin Hughes and Cadashia Collins scored two points apiece. Bradley Central was led by Anna Walker with 21 points.
"Bradley Central is a relentless basketball program, and we want to play teams who will give us challenges," Baylor coach John Gibson told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. "We were decimated by injuries last year, but I really think we can improve and get better. It's great to see Reagyn back, and she looks like she is getting used to that knee brace."
Baylor, 0-1, plays two games Saturday, taking on Warren County and Coffee County. Both games are at Coffee County.
