The Baylor girls' cross country team enjoys the tradition of honoring its seniors at the last home meet of the year which is, traditionally, the Front Runner Area Championships. The Raiders may be instituting a new tradition as well - winning the event. Baylor won the championship for the fourth straight year on Thursday afternoon.
The Raiders finished with 41 points followed by the CSTHEA Patriots with 79, Signal Mountain with 91, CCS at 100, and GPS with 102.
A brief pre-race ceremony recognized seniors Kalie Cromie, Emmy Davis, Sabrina Francke, Emily Hale, Lauren Hill, Caroline Imsand, Jade Liu, Riley Murdock, Hannah Rosser, and Sarah Rutledge.
Freshman Helen Webb led the way finishing second overall in 18:59, Emmy Davis was fourth at 19:35, Hannah Rosser finished fifth in 19:58, Janie Pippenger was 14th in 20:43, Addison Johnson crossed 16th in 20:59, Ellie Myers finished 21st in 21:33, Rosa Anderson Barrera was 22nd in 21:35, and Sarah Rutledge finished 29th in 22:18.
Baylor won the JV race easily with a perfect scored 15, taking the first five places.
