Baylor 5, Sequatchie County 4. Holly Merritt's double led to the winning run as the Baylor Middle School softball team walked off with a 5-4 win over Sequatchie County Tuesday.
Merritt, who had tripled in two runs in the third inning, followed a Kaylee Snyder single in the fifth inning, the Raiders' last at bat due to the time limit, with a gapper to left-center. An errant throw to third allowed Snyder to score with the winning run.
Snyder was the winning pitcher, working one inning in relief of Avery Shamblin who had allowed four hits and fanned eight in four innings. Snyder allowed one hit and struck out two.
Riley Oleksik added a double for Baylor, Addi Yates had a single and a stolen base, and Cammy Price had a sacrifice bunt for an RBI.
Baylor, 2-0, plays at Cleveland Wednesday.
