Irish Corner Hands Raiders Region Loss

Father Ryan 1, Baylor 0. The Baylor soccer team played its first region game of the season Thursday, dropping a 1-0 decision at Father Ryan. The Irish scored a second half goal on a corner kick play.

Charlie Hooks finished with two saves in the Baylor goal. Other standouts for the Raiders were Nathan Webb, David Danquah, and Andrew Hill.

"I thought we defended well today," said Baylor coach Curtis Blair. "We gave them only one chance and they took advantage."

Baylor, 5-4-1 overall and 0-1 in league play, continues the region schedule hosting Ensworth Tuesday.

Baylor Red 1, Signal Mountain 1. In Middle School soccer action Thursday, Jeb Martin scored the goal for Baylor Red in a 1-1 draw with Signal Mountain. Porter Stinson got the assist on a nice cross. Other standouts were Jake Kellerhals and Hayden Woodrow. Baylor Red, 3-1-1, hosts McCallie on May 2.
