Dill Deals, Baylor Advances at State Baseball

Baylor 8, Brentwood Academy 0. Baylor senior pitcher Jay Dill was spectacular in game one of the state championship tournament Tuesday, allowing just three hits and striking out 14 in a complete game, 8-0 win over Brentwood Academy. The Raiders, 25-4, will take on McCallie, a 5-2 winner over Briarcrest, in the winner's bracket semifinal Wednesday.

The Baylor offense was predictably strong, pounding out 13 hits including three each by Henry Godbout (3-for-4, two doubles, RBI) and newly-crowned Mr. Baseball Cooper Kinney (3-for-4, two RBI). Vito Valincius added two doubles and drove in three runs, and Nick Kurtz and John Emendorfer had a hit and an RBI each. Danny Corona, Hunter Herndon, and Jonathan Larrea added singles.
