Baylor sophomores Evie Culbreath and Baker Young finished sixth and 11th, respectively, at the state pentathlon championships competed at Brentwood Academy Thursday. Culbreath's performance earned All-State honors for herself and team points for the Raiders in next week's state track and field championships.
The pentathlon featured 20 of the state's best athletes competing if five events - 100 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, and 800 meter run - with points awarded for each based on performance standards, not place finish in each event.
Culbreath finished with 2560 points and Young totaled 2380. Champion Gianna Bullock of Ensworth won with 3535 points.
