Corday Leads Raiders to Second at Knockout Classic

Baylor senior Nick Corday was the 113-pound champion, leading the Baylor wrestling team to a runner-up finish at the Knockout Christmas Classic in Kissimmee, Fla. over Christmas break. The tournament is touted as the best high school tournament in the southeast and featured 11 nationally-ranked wrestlers and the regions top teams. The Raiders finished second, 215.5-197.5 to Tuttle of Oklahoma.

Corday needed four overtime periods to finally overcome Jake Crapps of Cass 2-1 in the championship final. Also making the medal stand for Baylor were junior David Harper, runner-up in the 195-pound class; junior Garrison Dendy, fourth at 145 pounds; senior Heath Snodgrass, fourth at 220; junior Jackson Bond, fifth at 126; junior Gunnar Garriques, fifth at 182; sophomore Anthony Mannella, sixth at 160; and senior Sam Christensen, sixth in the 285-pound weight class.
