Baylor Seniors Lead Victory on Senior Night

Baylor 4, Chattanooga Christian 1. The Baylor soccer team honored the senior members of the squad in a brief ceremony before beating Chattanooga Christian 4-1 Wednesday night. Three of Baylor's six seniors scored goals in the match.

Seniors Zoey Mize, Melissa Oliveira, and Zoe Stalvey had goals for the Raiders with sophomore Sophia Mize adding another. Two assists went to Oliveira while Jada Cooper and Zoey Mize had one each. Other seniors honored were Aliya Cooper, Hannah Lane Ford, and Merritt Yarbrough.

"To win any region match is tough, but I give a lot of credit to CCS for making it difficult on us tonight," said Baylor coach Curtis Blair. "We wanted to play well for our seniors tonight and I think we accomplished that. It's time now to start focusing on Hutchison for the state quarterfinal game."

Baylor ends the season as region champions with a 14-1-2 record, undefeated in league play. The Raiders get a bye in the first round of state playoffs and host Hutchison in the quarterfinals on Oct. 23.
