Baylor Sails Through Softball State Opener
Baylor 15, Chattanooga Christian 0. Holly Merritt and Riley Oleksik drove in four runs apiece to lead the Baylor softball team in a 15-0 rout of Chattanooga Christian n the opening round of the state tournament Wednesday.
Baylor had eight hits in the game, which was shortened to three innings by rule, including a triple by Oleksik and doubles by Merritt, Raven Jones, and Couriyah Stegall. Avery Shamblin pitched all three innings of the shutout, allowing two hits and striking out six.

Baylor, 30-3, plays rival GPS, a 9-2 winner over Tipton-Rosemark, in the semifinal round Thursday at approximately 12:30 ET.
