Baylor Ousted in Shootout at State Soccer

Father Ryan 3, Baylor 2, OT. The Baylor soccer team ended its season with an exhausting 3-2 loss to Father Ryan in a tie-breaking shootout in the semifinal round of the state tournament Wednesday.

David Danquah gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead midway through the first half with an unassisted goal, answered by the Irish five minutes later. The teams went to halftime in a 1-1 tie. Nathan Nunes put Baylor ahead again with an unassisted goal at the 57th minute but Ryan's Harrison Kraus tied it again at the 72-minute mark. After two scoreless overtime periods, the outcome was decided by a penalty kick shootout, which Father Ryan won 3-1. Zach Ubamadu finished with three saves in the Baylor goal.

The Raiders were credited with 15 shots while Ryan had only 10; the Irish led 5-4 in corner kicks.
