Baylor Girls Win Grove Level Stampede, Boys Compete at Saturday Light Fever

With five runners in the top ten, including the race winner Mae Mae Powe and runner-up Addi Greene, the Baylor girls' cross country team was an easy winner at the Grove Level Stampede in Dalton Thursday. The Raiders were winners by 70 points, 20-90, over second-place Rome.

Powe won in 19:15 with Greene in tow at 19:18. Addison Johnson was fourth in 20:38, Laney Fowler was fifth in 20:42, Helen Webb was eighth in 21:40, and Allison Royal was 24th in 23:09.

In the JV race, Baylor won with the first five finishers for a perfect score of 15. Charlotte Ann Haddock was the winner in 23:11, Sarah Kathryn Oliver was second in 23:41, Mallory Alling was third in 23:51, Maddie Perry finished fourth in 24:01, and Kate McCallie was fifth in 24:52. Also running for Baylor JV were Caroline Dart (25:33), Grace Burks (25:36), Sophia Glover (26:41), Morgen Newton (26:54), and Ivey Vance (30:07). Click here for complete results.

On Saturday, the Baylor boys' cross country team finished eighth at the Saturday Light Fever at Ferry Sanders Park in Hendersonville. Garrison Corley was Baylor's top runner, finished 19th in 16:20. Xian Campbell was 21st in 16:22, Alex Coley was 54th in 17:12, Christopher Knight finished 69th in 17:35, John Schepens was 78th in 17:44, Burke Murphy was 107th in 18:19, and Mercer Murphy finished 179th in 20:30.
