Baylor Girls Take Carpet City Title, Finish Runner-Up at Best of Preps

The Baylor girls' basketball team played seven games over the holiday break, winning the championship at the Carpet City Classic at Christian Heritage and finishing as runner-up at the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of Preps Tournament. Raegyn Conley was MVP at the Carpet City Classic and was All-Tournament, along with Cadashia Collins at the Best of Preps.

Baylor, 10-5, hosts Red Bank Tuesday.

Dec. 20

Marist 59, Baylor 51. Raegyn Conley scored 23 points to lead Baylor in a 59-51 loss to Marist of Atlanta.

Dec. 21

Baylor 50, Hutchison 40. Baylor bounced back from Friday's loss to take a 50-40 win over Hutchison on Saturday. Reagyn Conley had 16 points and Emma Martin added 15.

Carpet City Classic Quarterfinal, Dec. 27

Baylor 41, Gilmer County 38. Baylor squeaked by Gilmer County 41-38 in the opening game of the Carpet City Classic at Christian Heritage. Reagyn Conley led with 15 points and Riley Oleksik added 11.

Carpet City Classic Semifinal, Dec. 28

Baylor 55, Heritage 26. Reagyn Conley's 21 points led Baylor to a 55-26 win over Heritage and gave the Raiders a berth in the championship game.

Carpet City Classic Championship, Dec. 20

Baylor 51, Christian Heritage 31. Baylor ran away with the championship, drubbing host Christian Heritage 51-31. Tourney MVP Raegyn Conley had 20 points and Bella White added 14.

Best of Preps Quarterfinal, Jan. 2

Baylor 44, Notre Dame 29. Baylor got off to a good start in the Best of Preps tourney, topping Notre Dame 44-29. Raegyn Conley led the Raiders with 15 points.

Baylor 53, Sequatchie County 34. Baylor advanced to the championship game beating Sequatchie County 53-34. Raegyn Conley had 21 points and Cadashia Collins added 12.

Best of Preps Championship, Jan. 4

Signal Mountain 44, Baylor 42. A Baylor buzzer-beater fell short to leave the Raiders with a 44-42 loss to Signal Mountain in the championship game. Raegyn Conley led Baylor with 20 points and was joined by Cadashia Collins on the All-Tournament team.
