Baylor 2020 Soccer Season Begins with Shutout

Baylor 4, Boyd Buchanan 0. The Baylor boys' soccer team began its season Tuesday with a 4-0 shutout at Boyd Buchanan.

Ethan Nunes gave the Raiders all they would need with a long-range score at the 27th minute, assisted by Hunter Miller. Nunes crossed to Kevin Ho who finished the goal to make it 2-0 at the 47th minute. Riley Shankle, assisted by Ho, and David Danquah, assisted by Porter Stinson, put the game away with scoring strikes at the 53rd and 75th minute.

"I was proud of the second half," said Baylor coach Curtis Blair. "I thought we settled down and moved the ball better in the second half. It was a great high school soccer game to watch."

Baylor, 1-0, hosts the Baylor Tournament this weekend beginning with Hardin Valley on Friday.

Baylor JV 3, Boyd Buchanan 0. Baylor also had a shutout in the JV game, beating Boyd Buchanan 3-0. Jake Kellerhals scored two goals for the Raiders and Porter Stinson added another. Assists came from Chris Knight, Jeb Martin, and Will Duncan. Offensive standouts for the Raiders were Li Klaus, Mac Hickman, and Nicholas Short while Hayden Woodrow and Lee Dozier anchored the Baylor defense.

Baylor JV, 1-0, hosts Chattanooga Christian March 30.

Baylor's Middle School teams, both Red and Gray, lost by identical 9-0 scores to Dalton.
