Smith Qualifies for Olympic Trials

Addison Smith, who graduated from Baylor in June, has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials in the 200-meter freestyle.

Smith, a two-time state champion in the 500 freestyle, won the 200 in 2:00.86 at the Richard Quick Invitational on June 21. The Richard Quick Invitational features over 500 athletes from all over the southeast and was competed at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center on the campus of Auburn University.

Smith joins Olympic Trials qualifiers Ellie Waldrep '21, who made the trials in the 100-meter backstroke at the Atlanta Classic in May, and the University of Florida's Trey Freeman '18, who will swim the 200 and 400 freestyles.
