Baylor senior Matheus Maia will continue his soccer career at Carson-Newman University, signing papers with the Eagles on May 22.
Matheus has scored nine goals and had three assists this year for the region champion Raiders, who headed to the state semifinal match on the next day. He also plays for Chattanooga FC Academy.
"We are really excited for Matheus and his future at Carson-Newman," said Baylor coach Curtis Blair. "He will play for a great coach in Coach Lyons and the Eagles are always around the Top 25 in the nation. Coach Lyons and I played soccer together at Tennessee Wesleyan College and I know that he will take care of Matheus. I am always excited when I can send players to any program involving Coach Lyons."
