Baylor alum Crosby Huckabay '16, now an outfielder at Georgia Tech, has been named the ACC Softball Player of the Week by collegesportsmadness.com, a popular website for college sports coverage. College Sports Madness names Players of the Week in several sports in all conferences as well as national Players of the Week.
During the week ending on April 14, Huckabay was 8-for-15 with three doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, and a 1.133 slugging percentage as the Yellow Jackets beat Kennesaw State in a midweek game and swept Pitt in a three-game conference series on the weekend. The performance brings her totals for this season to 10 doubles, 11 homers, and 43 RBI.
As a five-year letter-winner for the Baylor softball team, Huckabay played on four state championship teams and is the school record-holder for home runs in a season, blasting 19 bombs in 2016. She was also a four-year starter on the Baylor basketball team, helping the Raiders to a final four appearance in 2015 and a state runner-up finish in 2016. As a senior, Huckabay was chosen by Baylor coaches as the Best All-Around Female Athlete.
