The Baylor varsity cheerleading squad will be traveling to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC), Feb.8-10th at the Walt Disney World Resort and ESPN Sports Center.
According to the Universal Cheerleaders Association, the NHSCC is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. The competition is nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to over 100 million homes nationwide.
Competing teams must attend UCA's Varsity Spirit Camp and participate in the Squad Credentialing Program to be eligible for a bid to the national event. The Baylor cheerleaders competed in October 2018 at the Tennessee Extreme Regionals in Brentwood and earned a bid invitation to attend the NHSCC for the second year in a row. The Raider squad competed in 2018 for the first time in over a decade. The competition will include 28 other squads in the division.
