Nationally Recognized Athletes

Baylor athletes are nationally recognized for excellence on the field and in the classroom, so it's not surprising that more than 100 Baylor graduates are competing for their college programs, many at highly selective schools such as Stanford, Virginia, Harvard, and Penn.

Superb Athletic Facilities & Coaches

In addition to a superb coaching staff, Baylor offers every student the opportunity to train and compete in facilities that rival those of most college campuses. Our aquatic center is undeniably one of the best in the nation. The field house contains three basketball courts that provide versatility by converting to volleyball, badminton, and fencing areas. The complex also features weight rooms, a cardio room, a dance studio, a running track, equipment rooms, an athletic training room and film rooms. Along with a historic but updated basketball arena, the facility houses a spacious wrestling arena for practice and competition.

Mild Climate for Longer Seasons & Better Training

The mild climate of East Tennessee provides boarding students from colder climates of the northeast and other countries to train and compete in much longer seasons.

Training Spaces for Elite Athletes

The Von D. Oehmig Sports Performance Center provides space and equipment for elite varsity athletic training while opening additional workout areas for all Baylor students, faculty, and staff. Other areas include Heywood football stadium with a seven-lane track and artificial turf, three baseball fields, a softball diamond, a dedicated lacrosse field with an artificial turf, a soccer complex that includes a stadium with a grass field and one field with the latest in artificial surfaces, a cross-country course that winds through the woods and along the river, eight indoor and 18 outdoor tennis courts. A short-game practice center for golf is also located on campus.
