We are excited to be inviting more than 30 classes back to campus to "Reunite, Remember, and Celebrate" Baylor's Alumni Weekend on Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.

The weekend is packed full of fun activities and events that will allow alumni and families to relive their Baylor days on campus, reconnect with former classmates, visit with current faculty and coaches, and enjoy a "meet and greet" event with Peggy and Chris Angel '89

As we wrap up our weekend together, we will also celebrate award recipients and memorialize alumni who passed away between 2019 - 21 at the Head of School Awards and Memorial Chapel Service on Sunday, Oct. 3 in alumni chapel.

Alumni Board Meeting Update

Alumni Board President Charles Mayfield '92 led the first in-person meeting board meeting in over a year on Friday, Aug. 27, welcoming new board members and Head of School Chris Angel '89 and Alumni Director Melissa Love Snyder '90.

Angel expressed his excitement in his return to Baylor and his goals for the coming year, noting that all alumni play a role in the admissions process in identifying prospective students and families.  With a goal of increasing our domestic boarding enrollment, Angel discussed how alumni board members can help in identifying classmates who have children who may be interested attending Baylor and in doing so, would increase Baylor's legacy enrollment.

To connect alumni with our current students and hear perspectives on their Baylor experiences, Director of Business Development Jaime Melton '94 introduced seniors Brett Cooper '22 and Maren Johnson '22, who provided personal perspectives from the Harris Stanford Honors program. Melton also highlighted the Baylor Backers program; and Athletic Director Mark Price provided an update on fall athletics.

Janet Hartman, Associate Director of Annual Giving, discussed the upcoming Baylor vs McCallie Challenge for the 2021-22 Baylor Fund campaign and asked all board members to submit their Baylor Fund pledges to ensure the board has 100 percent participation.

Alumni phonathons will be held Thursday, Sept. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 21.  Board members Lizzie Duff Costa '04 and Anna Glasscock '11 are chairs of the Sept. 23 alumni phonathon, which is part of the Baylor/McCallie Phonathon Challenge. For questions, or to volunteer, please email Maggie Corey '04, Associate Director of Annual giving for Alumni Engagement.

Snyder reviewed plans for Alumni Weekend Oct. 1-3, and discussed regional events planned to connect Baylor's new head of school with local alumni constituents throughout the fall.  Other development office highlights coming up in the fall include a dedication of the track at Heywood Stadium for Coach Bill McMahan '67 (see related story for details).

Mayfield concluded the meeting with expectations for the year and recognition of all board members who rolled off in 2020 and in 2021.  A barbecue tailgate followed the meeting with the board and their families prior to the Baylor vs. Ensworth football game.

2005 classmates (left to right) Elizabeth Fogo Robinson, Sarah Yarnell, Jennifer Flanagan Cole, and Wells Wright caught up at the recent alumni board meeting.

Future Baylor red raider Worth Kiser gets joins the tailgate fun with her parents, Tim Kiser '04 (pictured above) and Katie Henley Kiser '07. Katie recently rotated off the alumni board.
