For those interested in a more laid back experience, a stroll across the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge takes you from eclectic shops and a wide variety of restaurants in the North Shore neighborhood to cultural gems in the Bluff View Arts District. The Hunter Museum of American Art has one of the nation’s largest collections of American art and a few blocks farther downtown, you can meet more than 10,000 animals at the Tennessee Aquarium.  Stroll along the South Side's trendy Main Street and surrounding blocks for a diverse selection of restaurants, coffee shops, and retail spots.

NOTE: Baylor is located minutes from the downtown area, so downtown hotels and the bed and breakfast spots in the Bluff View Arts District will be the most convenient in driving time.

Home to about 500,000 residents, Chattanooga is located in the southeastern corner of Tennessee, near Georgia and Alabama.

Chattanooga is a convenient two-hour drive from Atlanta, Birmingham, Knoxville and Nashville. Our airport is serviced by Delta, U.S. Air, and Northwest Airlines, and an affordable shuttle to and from the international airports in Nashville and Atlanta. Both international airports are two hours away.

The "Go Green" City
