Ashlee O’Steen has served in a variety of roles at Baylor including Middle School and Upper School Walkabout instructor, freshman and senior trip guide, and most recently the director of student activities. This year O’Steen will assume the roles of assistant director of Walkabout and freshman English instructor. She will also serve as a dorm parent for a second year in Lowrance Hall. O’Steen graduated from Baylor in 2000 and earned a B.A. in English literature, a B.S. in secondary education, and minored in women’s studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Ashlee O’Steen, a 2000 graduate of Baylor, returned in 2014 to serve as the Director of Student Activities.

O’Steen graduated from UTC with a degree in secondary education and English. She has worked as a raft guide on the Ocoee River and spent time on staff at ski resorts in Big Sky, Montana and Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She has also helped as a guide with Baylor’s Walkabout program on a part-time basis.

The energetic O’Steen likes “meeting and hanging out with tons of kids” and planning activities that the students want to do. “I want lots of ideas from the kids but I’ll encourage them to take advantage of the activities that I plan, too,” she says. “And I like doing some things on the spur of the moment, maybe some outdoor stuff – just grab some kids on a nice day and go paddle-boarding or something.”
