Heath is interested in the intersection of art and technology. At Baylor, he helps lead an after-school program where students create design-driven technology projects.
Biography

Heath Montgomery teaches painting, digital design, and art foundations. Since joining the Baylor faculty in 2012, he has taken courses at Nuvu, an alternative innovation school in Boston, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Savannah College of Art and Design, and attended the Eyeo Festival at the Walker Museum in Minneapolis. These opportunities have put Heath in close proximity to some of the leading thinkers of creative use of technology in education

Heath is interested in the intersection of art and technology. At Baylor, he helps lead an after-school program where students create design-driven technology projects. He’s also a co-founder and leader of a group in Chattanooga, where artists and computer programmers collaborate on public art projects. Recently, Heath had a solo art show at the Association for Visual Arts in Chattanooga. He also recently participated in the Open Spaces public art program, where he installed a painting and light project in an empty storefront in downtown Chattanooga.

Before teaching at Baylor, Heath earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design and Savannah College of Art and Design. He earned his Master of Fine Arts, in painting, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Heath has also worked at Apple and spent five years working as a mural painter in Charlotte, NC.

Heath, a 1999 Baylor graduate, and his wife Mary Helen have one son .
