When she was in high school, Jenny worked at softball clinics and volunteered at a local elementary school, and she knew then that she wanted to teach. In her seventh grade geography classes, she sparks students' interest by lots of hand-on projects: they draw the world on an orange peel and see how hard it is to make it flat; make molds of the earth showing the continents, the core, and so on; and do projects on foreign countries by visiting web sites about those countries.
Jenny also focuses on helping students improve such skills as taking notes and studying for tests. She finds her seventh graders well-behaved and excited, and she says, "I like how they interact with each other and the teachers."
Jenny enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their two daughters - Bailey '18 and Cambell '20. She loves to run, travel, read, and cook.
