Tawambi Settles will serve as Baylor’s director of diversity and inclusion, the associate dean of students in the Middle School, and as an instructor in the social studies department in the Middle School. A graduate of McCallie School. Settles earned his B.A. in political science from Duke University, where he also excelled in football. He played professional football for a variety of teams including the Seattle Seahawks, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Green Bay Packers, and the Atlanta Falcons before eventually following the call to education. Most recently, Settles was serving as an instructor in the history department and as the director of diversity and inclusion at McCallie.
Settles is married to Melanie and has three children, Zuri, Dalilah, and Taj. He enjoys golf, chess, and working out.
