Summer Reading 2019

Upper School Requirements

All Upper School Students will read a total of three books: two books must come from their grade level list and one book may be any title of the student’s choice. Required summer reading titles for AP and Honors classes will also count toward the three-book total.

Students should not select any texts that they have previously read, and students should submit the reading log to their advisors when they return to school in August.

Middle School Requirements

All 6th grade students are required to read three books: Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick and two additional books from the 6th Grade Directed Reading List.

All 7th and 8th grade students are required to read three books from their grade level Directed Reading List.

Students should not select any texts that they have previously read, and students should submit the reading log to their English teachers when they return to school in August.

Additional Resources

Summer reading books can be purchased online, in a bookstore (check out Chattanooga's Indie bookstore, Star Line Books) or checked out from a library.
