International Support

English Language and Academic Support

Although Baylor does not offer a formal English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program, the Baylor Learning Center provides support to international students in building their English language skills. Plus, extra help sessions provide additional opportunities for students to interact with teachers on a one-to-one basis.

During international students first year at Baylor, students are required to attend The Learning Center during one of their class periods. The Learning Center is an open environment where students can work at their own level and speed to build their English language skills. This is also a comfortable space for students to discuss any academic struggles or concerns. After the first year, international students may opt to stay in The Learning Center for additional support. If a student decides to leave The Learning Center, (s)he is always welcome to drop-in at anytime.

The Learning Center is also available to all students in the evenings (Mon.-Thur. from 8:00-10:00 in Sterling). This is a time for students to seek out academic support in any subject.
