Congratulations to Jeremy Bowling ’94, who was promoted to Colonel in a small ceremony held in the Pentagon on Nov. 2, 2020.  He is currently assigned as the Executive Officer for Headquarters, Dept. of the Army G3/5/7.

Recently, he along with members of the battalion he commanded (3-187 Infantry) were featured in a documentary produced by Fox Nation entitled "Heroes of Hamburger Hill," a tribute to the Vietnam Veterans of 3-187 Infantry who fought the infamous Battle of Hamburger Hill in May 1969.

The documentary shows the power of redemption and peace as Bowling took his men back to Hamburger Hill (Hill 937) in the A Shau Valley where they finally reached the summit of the hallowed ground on which they had fought 50 years ago.  The film follows the story of James Greene, who never received the awards and decorations he earned for his service because he was evacuated after a near death encounter with the enemy.  Standing atop the Hill 50 years later, he shared his story with Bowling, who takes responsibility for correcting this mistake and a year later is able to present Greene with his awards in a ceremony featuring the governor of South Carolina, the Secretary of Veteran’s Affairs, and country music artist Craig Morgan.
