Leadership Baylor Staff
Baylor’s staff and counselors are committed to leadership and have extensive experience working with young people. But what really makes our staff stand out among those you’ll find at other camps is how versatile their life experiences are: A former NFL player and college coach, a marine biologist, and a former Apache helicopter pilot -- these are just a few of the folks you will work with during your week at Baylor.
Program Leaders
Jeff Edwards: Jeff learned a lot about leadership before ever becoming a teacher. A veteran of the first Gulf War, Jeff earned a bronze star during his time in Iraq in 1991. He currently teaches in Baylor's science and math departments teaching physics and pre-calculus. He also works with the Leadership Baylor program facilitating teachers and designing curriculum.
Marti Wayland: Marti teaches regular and honors pre-calculus and AP Calculus. She believes that math must be "hands-on, logical, and curiosity-whetting," and her classroom is full of string, tape, dental floss, play dough, and sidewalk chalk. On occasion her classes take field trips to Baylor's Rike Field to create human graphs. Marti also teaches Advanced Placement Statistics and works with the Leadership Baylor program facilitating teachers and designing curriculum.
